December 14 PTA Meeting

Just a quick reminder that there is a PTA meeting Tuesday night at 6:00pm.  We will be discussing upcoming events. as well as reporting on our fundraiser results.

We desperately need someone to help with Santa's Workshop on Friday from 5 to 7!!!!!

Parents Night Out and Santa's Secret Workshop

Hello all!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  As we move into December, I wanted to let you all know about upcoming PTA events.  Dec 15-17 PTA will host a Santa's Secret Workshop.  It will be located on the stage in the Blue Jay Cafe.  We will be open before and after school.  We need volunteers to help run the cash register.  If you wish to work, just let me know how long you want to stay.  The workshop needs workers for the following hours:
Wed. Dec 15  3:15 till 5:30pm
Thur. Dec 16  3:15 till 5:30pm
Fri. Dec 17  3:15 till 9:00 pm  (open late for Parents Night Out)

Additionally, PTA will host a Parents Night Out again this year on Fri. Dec 17 from 6:00 till 9:00pm.  Students will have the opportunity to make a take home craft, watch some holiday shows, and have dinner.  Christina Taylor and Brandy Maggard will be in charge of Parents Night Out.  They could really use some volunteers to help supervise children during all their activities.  Volunteers would be needed from 5:30 till 9:30pm, or any portion of that you can assist with.

A Great Fall Carnival

Thanks to everyone who helped with our Fall Carnival!!!  It was a huge success :)  We will crunch the numbers and let you know our profits at the November PTA meeting.

Workers for Games

I still need about 10 more folks to work games!!!  Each shift is only 45 minutes.  Volunteers are welcome to wear costumes :) 

Fall Carnival

Our Fall Carnival is quickly approaching and we need YOU!!!

 

I still need volunteers for the Trunk or Treat.  PTA will provide the candy, you just decorate the trunk of your car and pass it out.  We also need volunteers to participate in the chili cook-off, as well as help serve food and take payments.  We could use a few more hands to help with games too!  I'm asking folks work in 45 minute blocks.  That way, everyone gets a chance to enjoy the Carnival and spend time with their kiddos!     Game tickets are 25cents each or 5 for $1.00. 

 

Each grade is putting together a basket to be raffled off.  If you can provide a small item for the basket, that would be great!

Kindergarten: Wild About Animals

Third: Cooking

Fourth: The Holidays (any and all)

Fifth: Sports

Basket tickets are $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00 or 12 for $10.00.

Grandparents Day

REMINDER:

Wednesday, October 20 is Grandparents Day for K-2 and
Friday, October 22 is Grandparents Day for 3-5.

Students will perfom songs in the Bluejay Cafe then refreshments will be served.  Grandparents will also  accompany their student to the classroom for a brief visit.

Open House tonight!

The Book Fair is under way and going well.  We could still use some volunteers tonight from 5 to 7pm.  The PTA meeting starts at 6pm.  If you are bringing food for the teacher's dinner, please have it there by 5:30pm so all teacher's have a chance to eat before parents start arriving.  Open House is tonight at 6:30pm.

Book Fair 2nd schedule request

We still need volunteers to help with the book fair.

Monday: full.

Tuesday: 8am-9am, 9am-10am, 10am-11am, 3:15pm-4pm, 4pm-5pm, 5pm-6pm, 6pm,-7pm (open house)

Wednesday: 8am-9am

Thursday: 8am-9am

If you can't stay for an hour, then a 30 minute block would be great also.  We really need someone to help with the Book Fair during the PTA meeting!!! (6pm-6:30pm Tuesday)

OPEN HOUSE, SEPTEMBER 28, 2010

PTA will host our second meeting at 6:00pm right before Open House on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. 

We will be finalizing our yearly budget, planned activities and fundraisers. During the meeting and Open House, PTA will be offering memberships and T-shirts.  We will also have an area set up selling baked goods and drinks.  All profits go directly to the PTA. 

The yearbook committee will be selling old yearbooks from last year for $5.00, and taking pre-orders for this year's books at $15.00.

Last but not least, the Book Fair will be set up on the stage for parents and student to browse through and make purchases.
